Global Equities Analyst / Assistant Portfolio Manager

This Investment Management firm is also a fintech. It is enabling mostly millennial investors to easily invest in the share market at the lowest possible fees. The product has no minimum investment, no transaction fees, no buy/sell spreads and a low fee to boot, even lower than market leading passive/ETF investors. Investors choose currently from a 200 stock portfolio (or index portfolio) of the world’s largest and highest quality businesses, or a 100 stock actively managed portfolio with the ability to also invest in small cap high growth/quality stocks. Funds under management is roughly $300m and the client base has doubled in the last 7 months.

Working with your peers in the investment team, there currently is a Portfolio Manager and an Investment Analyst – but the team has a flat structure and you will be part of analysing stocks in the portfolio and constructing the portfolio. You have the ability to stay within areas already covered by the fund – or follow your nose into new areas. This is very much a typical global equities fund, the investment process being similar to other well known global equities funds in Australia just with a different client accumulation strategy. You will be analysing company dynamics, competitive land scape, competitive moats, financial/economic sustainability of the company all within the context of a valuation. The fund is happy to pay a fair price for a company they view is high quality.

We are looking for a candidate with roughly 4-10 years of experience likely gained from the big 4 accounting firms (Valuations, Deals modelling, M&A), M&A/Investment banking, a fund (doing corporate valuations), or equity research. It is likely that you have or are pursuing a CFA. This firm is not able to sponsor visas.
