Fixed Income Research Analyst

Our client is major Global Investment Manager actively expanding their Asia Pacific presence and coverage. They’re looking to add a Credit Research Analyst to their existing Australian Fixed Income Research team based in Sydney.

Working closely with the investment managers, you will responsible for performing in-depth fundamental and financial analysis on corporate credit issuers to provide independent concise and clear investment recommendations and conclusions. Your recommendations are valued, measured, tracked and scored – with good results paramount in this team and the environment. Being part of a strong regional team, you will also be collaborating with other team members across APAC and be an active participant in the global fixed income research efforts.

Degree qualified in Economics, Accounting, Finance or Commerce, as a Fixed Income Credit Analyst, you will have with 5-7 years relevant experience in a similar role and environment. “Analyst” is very much the role as opposed to a title so there is flexibility for those seeking a career as an Analyst, as well as the scope for those wanting to progress into Investment Management. It is expected that you will have excellent technical analysis and research skills coupled with strong product and market knowledge. You will be detail oriented with strong presentation and communication skills – and comfortable presenting both internally & externally.

To support its ambitious growth plans, the Sydney team is currently seeking to hire an Analyst for their Origination team that will support both the new business efforts and will conduct corporate credit analysis on business opportunities. Working as part of a small and dynamic team you will gain access to the full lifecycle of origination and client management and will play an integral role in delivering client materials, credit and portfolio analysis and ensuring the credit approval process is managed with rigour.

The ideal candidate will have gained 2-3 years experience of commercial or corporate credit analysis or a trade/asset/structured finance role and will be comfortable working in a highly dynamic, multicultural environment across multiple time zones. Successful candidates will be curious, resilient, reliable and able to work in a transformational business. Occasional overseas travel may be involved in the role and applicants with additional language skills (eg. Mandarin, Korean, Japanese) will be well regarded.

Director, Credit & Portfolio Mgt

Our client is a specialist and significant investor and financier to the Australian market, specifically in renewable energy, efficiency and emissions technologies, transport, real estate, manufacturing, agriculture, and in recent times also into innovation and aggregation platforms. Their investment portfolio comprises a relatively low volume of predominantly high dollar value transactions. To support continuing growth, they are now seeking to appoint a Director Risk & Portfolio Mgt to provide credit risk and portfolio support to the Origination team in structuring and executing transactions.

Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you will support the Origination team and Chief Investment Officer in conducting credit analysis and preparing investment papers, ensuring adherence to investment & loan policy and credit ratings. You will manage conditions precedent sign-offs to bring deals to financial close and review all aspects of due diligence, as well as supporting the investment committee in reviewing all transactions. Key to your role, is providing assessment on investment risk of proposed transactions, and provision of feedback to the Origination team in structuring deals and risk appetite.

With relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, or Business, you will have 15+ years’ credit risk and/or portfolio mgt experience gained from a corporate/investment bank, investment fund, other financial institution or advisory firm. You have developed technical skills in credit analysis, financial products, and legal structures, with extensive experience in project finance, corporate finance, property finance and securitisation, risk assessment and loan management. Experience with debt, equity and venture capital would be viewed favourably. Your strong problem solving skills and confidence in working with new and innovative structures and solutions will lead to positive investment outcomes. An accomplished communicator, you can explain complex concepts to both clients and stakeholders, and your excellent organisation skills, allow you be effective with tight deadlines and high pressure situations.
