Associate/AVP Credit Risk Management

This leading global investment bank is currently seeking an Associate / Associate Vice President to join the Credit Risk team in Sydney; providing in-depth credit analysis and execution on a wide range of investments across a variety of asset classes and investment styles.

Reporting to the Head of Credit Risk, you will work closely with the various specialist product businesses, partnering them through the transaction lifecycle, conducting due diligence, and assisting in structuring and execution across the relevant transaction areas – including hi-yield debt, structured credit, LBO and asset-backed securities. You will be charged with the analysis of counterparties and transactions, effectively communicating the risk perspective to internal stakeholders.

You will be tertiary qualified with a business, accounting or finance related degree and be an experienced credit risk professional with 3 – 8 years’ relevant experience within a local institutional, or global investment bank. And with a strong knowledge of risk analysis and financing investment and sub-investment grade corporates where traditional capital markets are not accessible. Typical transactions are complex leveraged loans that include providing liquidity for distressed borrowers, M&A sponsor financing, subordinated holding company structures, share backed financing and commercial real estate lending. Its expected that you will have experience in risk management for leveraged/structured transactions, strong knowledge of loan documentation, an effective decision-making capability and sound derivatives knowledge. Furthermore you will have exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
