Strategic Entrepreneurial CFO

Our client is an well established, well capitalised and rapidly growing financial services group with offices through Australia and Asia. With a substantial loan portfolio they are one of the biggest operators in Australia’s alternative finance market, with ambitions for substantial future growth. The firm is private equity backed and with significant capital has an ambitious and exciting expansion plan. Part of this includes hiring an experienced, yet entrepreneurial, CFO to join the leadership team and help drive the expansion program.

As a strategic and driven CFO, you will be joining join a fast paced financial services group in a leadership capacity. This is an Executive level role where you will be ‘2IC’ to the CEO. You will lead a team across finance, legal, compliance, risk and treasury – and be comfortable with expanding/building the team to support a business with significant growth ambitions, backed by the capital to execute on these.  You will play a key part in overseeing the high growth aspirations of the company. In terms of leadership you will actively engage investors, funders and the private equity owners.

Tertiary qualified with technical accountancy qualifications (CA, ACA, CIMA), you have a proven capacity to lead and motivate a finance and wider team, with experience in the financial services sector in a leadership role.

You will have experience in all aspects of finance including internal and external reporting, tax, cashflow management, treasury, financial analysis, and compliance. It is also hopeful that you also have a strong working understanding of treasury, funding, and securitisation. Any exposure to M&A transactions, high growth businesses, operating at Board level and private equity will be highly regarded. You will have the ability and confidence to work with individuals across all levels of the business, as well as the gravitas to communicate and present to the Board and Shareholders.

This leading mortgage specialist has been in the local market for over 20 years, and differentiates themselves with a progressive agenda and an impressive model for future growth. Being well capitalised with a strong financial position, this includes an ambitious and exciting expansion plan and a residential loan portfolio in excess of $8bn; with further and significant origination capabilities this year alone. Due to this increased market activity the firm is seeking a (newly created) Senior Credit Risk Manager, to lead the business through implementation of a new credit risk framework and as they continue to grow their loan book.

Reporting to the CFO, as the Senior Credit Risk Manager you will be responsible for developing a detailed credit risk management framework for the Lending/Credit department; ensuring it’s aligned with best practice and business strategy. The firm focuses on non-prime, moving up to near prime debt and requires a very hands on approach; evaluating and reporting on operational policies and procedures to achieve credit risk management objectives. In addition to this, you will be required to monitor potential credit impacts and credit risk of existing and new projects acting as the subject matter expert for the broader leadership team. Continual improvement and maximising the approach to credit risk and risk management strategy is a key focus for the development and growth of the organisation moving forward.

You will be tertiary qualified with a business, accounting or finance related degree and an experienced credit risk professional within the retail banking (mortgage, asset finance, commercial banking space) with 7-10 years’ plus experience. It is expected that you have an in depth knowledge of the residential mortgage market in Australia and any experience in non-conforming space is an advantage. You will be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of credit risk analysis and have a comprehensive understanding of regulatory laws, policies and procedures.

Due to increased market activity the firm is seeking and Associate – Associate Director to join the Credit Risk Management team, providing in-depth credit analysis and execution on a wide range of investments across a variety of asset classes and investment styles.

Reporting to the Head of Credit Risk, you will work closely with the various specialist product businesses, partnering them through the transaction lifecycle, conducting due diligence, and assisting in structuring and execution across the relevant transaction areas – including hi-yield debt, structured credit, LBO and asset-backed securities. You will be charged with the analysis of counterparties and transactions, effectively communicating the risk perspective to internal stakeholders. In addition, you will also review existing limits and trading conditions associated with particular counterparties and portfolio risks as market conditions change, and ensure adequate frameworks are in place for new products.

Tertiary qualified with a business, accounting or finance related degree and be an experienced credit risk professional (4-10 years), within the disciplines above and requisite specialisations. It is expected that you have gained your skills within a commercial or investment bank, non-bank financier, or broking firm. Your strong knowledge of risk analysis – covering LBO, M&A, securitisation, ratings, real estate and investment grade credit – loan management systems, industry practices, lending products, parameters, and documentation will be critical to your success in building and managing this growth initiative.

This leading Global Bank is seeking an Credit Risk Analyst to join a well-established and dynamic team. As part of their Corporate Banking division, this team in-depth financial analysis and credit papers for new transactions and refinancing through thorough understanding of Corporate and Institutional Finance transactions. The Bank has been a leading player in this sector for many years both globally and domestically.

You will be responsible for analytical and reporting assistance, client coverage support and credit risk management. Working with top ASX 200 clients, you will be responsible for due diligence, financial and credit risk assessment and portfolio analysis, whilst gaining/expanding exposure to the bank’s key clients in this sector.

Tertiary qualified, you will have sound experience in credit risk, portfolio management and client interaction.
