Responsibilities
• Play a significant role in origination efforts including attending events, interacting with bankers and industry professionals, and building an international network to generate leads
• Lead the execution of investments, overseeing junior members of the team to conduct financial analysis and valuations whilst being hands on with modelling when needed
• Lead due diligence processes including hiring and managing third party advisors.
• Support senior members of the team to present deals to the Investment Committee
• Interact and liaise with senior management of portfolio companies and develop strategies & operations to add value to the businesses
• Provide training to junior members of the team when needed

Requirements
• 2-6 years of experience within a leading Power, Infrastructure or Energy team in a bulge bracket or boutique investment bank or ideally currently working as an investment associate within an infrastructure equity investor
• Have an in-depth understanding of the local & international infrastructure market with proven M&A deal experience
• Possess the ability to build financial models, conduct due diligence and valuations across Infrastructure related opportunities
• Have excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact and liaise with all levels of management internally and externally
• Demonstrate a strong business mindset and commercial acumen
• Hold a finance, mathematical, engineering or related degree from a highly regarded university

Associate Director – Renewables, Investments and M&A

The Client
A leading global brownfield investor and greenfield developer across Renewables and Energy related Infrastructure. After a number of successes for the platform across APAC, the team is adding an Associate Director to the Sydney based origination team.

The Role
The Associate Director will analyse and execute evaluation of strategic investments (organic and M&A projects) for our client across APAC. In addition, you will focus on originating attractive M&A opportunities in wind, solar and storage to cater to the business needs of the company and lead all of the M&A execution efforts in coordination with the team head. You will also facilitate investment-related communications and decision making with the Investment Committee and other business units including corporate areas of our client.

Responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate the analysis of Greenfield projects in terms of economic risks and strategic options and undertake oversight of the team’s efforts in carrying out valuation and sensitivity analyses of various opportunities generated by the platform
• Coordinate the efforts of the internal teams of the platform to prepare investment memos and liaise with decision making bodies for required approvals
• Originate and evaluate M&A opportunities and lead the negotiation of transaction documentation and structuring
• Evaluate divestment opportunities and assist the head of the team in the execution of asset rotation targets for the platform
• Participate in strategic analysis projects (i.e., Special Projects)
• Analyse and support bid strategies for Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)
• Oversee the impairment analysis process for the platform
• Oversee and mentor the junior members of the team and integrate the new recruits to the team

Requirements
• Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Strategy or a related field
• 8+ years in M&A, corporate finance, or investment analysis, which should include in depth experience and direct involvement in contract and deal negotiation
• Some experience in renewable deal making preferred
• Strong knowledge of valuation, financing, accounting, and strategic analysis
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical skills

The Role
The primary focus is on leading the sourcing and execution of APAC investment opportunities including all related activities, with the support of juniors. Part of this will be to identify and lead on bolt-on investment opportunities, and ultimately leading on the exit process.

The Role

The Candidate
As an Associate your responsibilities will include:
• Active involvement in the analysis, structuring and execution of deals with a particular angle on asset evaluation/business modelling
