My client is a long-standing and highly successful global private markets investor and asset owner with access to large scale capital that is supported by deep operational expertise. They are looking to hire an Investment Associate into their team in Sydney who will get the opportunity to consider and execute investments across a wide range of strategies, geographies, investment vehicles, partner base and sectors. There has been a recent focus on buyouts and growth capital investments, but the team is also looking at investments of a slightly more defensive nature, as well as select private debt and special situations investments.

You will work closely with the senior investment team locally and abroad with your key responsibilities being:

  • Analysing and coordinating private equity and infrastructure transactions from inception to close
  • Develop and maintain financial models for acquisitions, divestments, and underlying updates to investments
  • Manage and co-ordinate transaction and investment due diligence workstreams, including management of external advisors
  • Actively participate in assessment of potential businesses or assets to be acquired, including development of proposals, valuations and marketing to developers and investors
  • Provide analytical and commercial support to investment managers for the ongoing management of portfolio assets

To be successful you will have likely gained ~2-5 years’ experience in a transactional environment in any one of the following areas; investment banking, corporate advisory, buy side investing or in one of the relevant teams from the Big 4 (or similar). You will display a high degree of technical ability in relation to financial modelling and deal execution and display a natural commercial acumen and investor’s mindset in the way that you look at prospective investments and the platform’s broader portfolio.
