An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Associate to join a leading international bank with exceptional Project Finance lending capabilities. Due to the banks expansion and continual growth, they are now seeking to hire an established Senior Associate to pro-actively and effectively manage an increasing portfolio of Project Finance clients.

As a Senior Associate in the team, you will be responsible for monitoring credit, portfolio and account management for project finance clients, including monitoring of industry trends. In addition to this you will be involved in the preparation of credit proposals for new transactions & re-financing and provide support to Origination team as required.

For this role, you will likely bring 3+ years’ relevant experience in a financial institution or similar, with a background in credit analysis, deal structuring, project finance or corporate finance. Through this experience, you will be able to demonstrate a strong working knowledge of financing concepts and the requisite financial modelling and analysis skills needed for this style of role.

The department offers a range of solutions to real estate investors for financing the acquisition of or refinancing office properties, hotels, industrial / logistics and, in certain circumstances, retail/shopping centres. This includes both traditional non-recourse mortgage loans and capital market financings as well as debt advisory services. The Vice President will work closely with the Head of Real Estate Finance, in an integral role to build out the team and the banks’ exposure in Australia.

The Vice President will contribute to the origination of finance transactions in the commercial real estate sector in Australia. These transactions will typically be non-recourse (secured) or corporate (secured) transactions, secured by a single asset or a portfolio of assets per the guidelines prescribed for the business line. You will lead the structuring and execution of finance transactions including determining and negotiating financing terms & conditions, management of the due diligence process, reviewing and providing senior input into credit applications, term sheet drafting and preparation of offers and agreements. You will have 7+ years’ experience in real estate structured finance and have a demonstrated understanding of the Australian real estate market. It is expected that you have strong technical skills and confidence in running an end-to-end deal process.

You will assist with deal sourcing and opportunity mapping/research of private equity managers and investments; drafting of Board papers for PE matters in a timely manner; undertaking quantitative due diligence on fund and co-investment opportunities under the guidance of senior team members; participating in qualitative, on-site due diligence on global fund; and potentially exploring co-investment opportunities.

As a senior team member, you will lead client interactions and will utilise your in depth credit and structuring experience to ensure sound credit principles are applied and will both run, interpret and amend models whilst also reviewing the work of others, providing coaching and support to less experienced team members. In addition to transaction and client based work, you will assist in the ongoing operational management of the team and assist in training and development of team members.

You will have 6+ years of relevant experience in a credit risk analysis ideally in securitisation or structure; likely gained in a banking, client issuer, corporate trustee or ratings firm platform. In addition, you will demonstrate exceptional technical and analytical skills, will be a confident written and verbal communicator who enjoys working in a deal and deadline driven environment.
