Reporting (indirectly) to the Chief Operating Officer, you will work with the newly established Portfolio Management Team, playing a key support role to this innovative development/project finance platform. The Senior Loan Administration Officer will work with members of the Portfolio Management Team to administer a portfolio of financing instruments including loans, guarantees and equity investments. You will be required to handle a variety of activities which will include update systems, manage records, process loan drawdowns and payments, follow up client reporting obligations, customer due diligence and internal reporting. Additionally, this role is responsible for reviewing and improving the Loan Administration operations to better meet clients’ needs and streamline internal processes. You will have regular interactions with internal and external stakeholders including clients, advisers and government entities.

Tertiary qualified, you will have at least 3 years’ experience in banking and finance (or related field), preferably in a loan or credit administration role. Key skills and attributes will include sound analytical and numeracy skills, excellent excel and computer skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, team-player, excellent verbal and written communication skills and a focus on customer experience. Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility (NAIF) is a development financier that was established by the Federal Government in 2016 in order to provide finance to support the development of infrastructure projects and businesses in northern Australia. In providing finance, NAIF has a strong focus on driving economic growth, public benefit and positive indigenous and local community outcomes. NAIF has made commitments (in the form of investment decisions) of $3.1 billion across 25 investments in Central and North Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia.

Reporting to the Director Investment, as AD Financing Partnerships, you will assist in the building and execution of the NAIF Small Loans Program. Under NAIF’s Small Loans program, NAIF seeks to partner with regional financiers to provide loans in the range of $1 to $10m to support business expansion activities. Under these arrangements, NAIF effectively provides a commitment to a regional financier and then delegates credit decision making within an agreed set to credit and financing rules.

The NAIF Small Loans program is a new strategic initiative for NAIF, with the intention that we will develop a number of partnerships focused on a combination of regions and particular sectors. NAIF is well progressed in finalising its first small deal financing partnership.

Under this role, you will develop and foster networks and relationships with financing partners (such as credit unions, regional banks and other commercial financiers) and be responsible for assessing their suitability for the NAIF Small Loans Program with other lenders. Reporting through to Directors & Partners your role will include: Providing commercial and financial advice to utilities, the private sector and Governments on energy projects, Public Private Partnerships (“PPPs”) and major infrastructure projects; Providing advice across the entire project cycle including feasibility assessment, business case development, project implementation, commercial structuring and negotiation, bid development, financial analysis and tender evaluation; Participating in and driving deals/commercial transactions and assessing emerging technologies, new entrants and industry trends.
This team has a broad mandate, from delivering greenfield infrastructure for the renewables industry to creating smarter circular economy and education precinct solutions.

Requirements:
• 2-4 years’ experience in M&A, debt advisory or project finance, investment banking or principal investment involving Energy or Infrastructure, capital-intensive businesses and/or the Power sector
