A current opportunity exists for a corporate finance professional seeking a role within a listed Australian corporate to work across M&A execution, the subsequent integration of acquisitions and the implementation of group strategy. This Industrials business is a market leader in their sector, has a national presence and a clear strategy for growth. Working as part of a small team based in Sydney, and directly for the Head of M&A, you will enjoy exposure to senior management, including the CEO, and will take a lead role in the management and execution of deal processes including leading commercial negotiations. The role holder will be required to work closely with the business unit heads and therefore must be comfortable building strong working relationships across a broad spectrum of an organisation.

To be successful you will have gained between 4 and 6 years of M&A experience, ideally within an investment banking environment but candidates coming from leading independent corporate advisory firms, the M&A teams of the top 4 CA firms or from other corporate development teams will also be considered. You will have a proven track record of executing M&A transactions and will be looking for an opportunity to use this skill set in a corporate environment whilst also gaining experience of working on acquisition integration and with the implementation of strategy. Given the size of the team you must be comfortable working across all stages of a deal from due diligence and financial modelling through to commercial negotiations and you will display a collaborative and mature communication style. This role represents a great opportunity for a first step in to a corporate environment from banking / advisory.

We are running a process for the Sydney office of a global Infrastructure Fund. This fund has been functioning globally for over 10 years with deep established institutional ownership and an established portfolio of assets. The target assets are focused around the exciting sector of Student Accommodation (both on and off campus).

This fund is looking for an Analyst or Senior Analyst who can work with the local Investment Director. The duties will include: Involvement in local and overseas transactions (financial modelling of potential projects, debt/equity/tax structuring of assets and deal execution); Assisting with asset review including projects for enhancements of assets; Investor communication work and presentations; the roles will however exist as part of a close team of 4 (total business local is 40+). The roles will include travel to the US and UK from time to time both for existing assets and potential new deals.

We are considering candidates at 1.5-5 years experience coming from: valuation or corporate finance teams of the big 4 accounting firms (or similar) having had experience to infrastructure/PPP assets/deals; project finance advisory, project finance or PPP teams within government. We will only be considering Australian based candidates with permanent residency.

It holds assets across ports, rolling stock (trains), rail, logistics terminals and warehousing. The corporate development team is a small 2 person team with wide influence with capability to affect commercial/strategic decisions across the portfolio. The investment committee will be closely located to you, which will give you the opportunity to include yourself in the wider commercial discussion of the business, and strategy of the firm and its assets.

Working closely with the Chief Financial Officer and General Manager: Financial analysis, due diligence, building of financial models and assisting board presentation for potential new assets and analysis of existing portfolio businesses; Assisting strategic initiatives for assets owned by the corporate; monitor the value drivers of the group corporate and portfolio assets; sector analysis; ad hoc projects.

We are considering locally based candidates with between 2-4 years of experience within corporate finance, valuations, financial modelling.
