About the Opportunity
Associate, Credit Investments

• Global Asset Manager

• Long term capital provider

• Growing firm and deployment agenda

JMES is currently partnering with a Global Asset Manager with offices across Europe, North America and Australia, and a mandate to invest across high-quality investment grade assets. With a long-term capital source, they have successfully deployed meaningful capital in Australia across real asset investments - infrastructure, real estate and renewable energy and continue to see an ever-increasing pipeline of opportunities. As a credit focused asset manager, the team deploys long term capital (10+ years), typically A$100mn+ across a range of financing structures.

With significant momentum behind the platform and investment mandate the team is seeking an Associate level candidate to join them in Sydney to assist with credit investment underwriting and assessment. You will work closely with the senior team both here in Sydney and offshore and be responsible for building investment proposals, providing modelling analysis for investment opportunities and conducting credit analysis. These opportunities will typically be in the form of providing investment grade or equivalent debt finance to real estate and infrastructure investment opportunities. Candidates should be highly numerate and enjoy research, due diligence and the technical side of credit investing.

This is a key appointment for the team who are seeking someone ideally with 3-4 years’ experience gained from Corporate Finance in an investment bank, independent firm or big 4 accounting firm (including Valuations), Debt / Structured Finance / Capital Markets, Debt Advisory or possibly a domestic bank (Capital / Treasury team) with a desire to be in a more transactional and client facing role.

This is a great opportunity to work on the buy side, in a well-established global firm, analysing, structuring and underwriting structured and complex financing arrangements with the ability to interrogate models and credit metrics.

Applicants must have full working rights in place for Australia to be considered for this opportunity.
