Our client, a major superannuation fund, is seeking an Investment Analyst to join the investment team on a contract basis, reporting directly to the Senior Portfolio Manager, working to identify risks and opportunities in the investment environment and translate these decisions aimed at enhancing portfolio return and/or mitigating risks.

The role also supports capital market research and analysis of individual asset classes, including due diligence, portfolio performance and risk analysis. In addition, the role contributes to the development and enhancement of their overall portfolio, performance attribution and risk analysis.

Your key responsibilities as an Investment Analyst will be:

• Assist in stress test, scenario analyses & risk assessments to support Dynamic & Strategic Asset Allocation for defined contribution assets

• Develop & maintain comprehensive asset allocation models across a broad spectrum of asset classes, forming investment views for asset allocation decisions

• Ongoing portfolio management aimed at return optimisation & risk minimisation

• Collaboration with internal PMs & external market participants to discuss investment landscape & impact on allocation decisions

• Monitor portfolio performance & compliance with responsible investing guidelines

• Review investment management agreements with new & existing fund managers

• Develop investment modelling tools & liquidity management strategy to support decision making & drive portfolio strategies

• Implementation of derivative strategies to protect against downside risk

The successful candidate will fit the following criteria:

• 3-7 years in an investment field or relevant discipline

• Relevant tertiary & post-graduate qualifications in Finance or Economics

• Proficient with financial software & tools, such as Bloomberg, Excel & programming languages, like Python

• Demonstrable adaptability & proactive mindset towards continuous & professional development

• Capability to embrace new analytical technologies & keep abreast of latest market trends, including regulatory changes & financial innovations

You must have full working requirements in Australia to be considered for this role.
