Our client is a not for profit, for purpose organisation with a steeped history in Australia. They have recently established an internal corporate development team to advance the business strategy and diversify revenue streams by driving institutional growth and strategic commercial initiatives. This has created a new and exciting role for an Associate Director, Transactions to join the team based in Melbourne.
In this position, you will initially focus on the delivery and execution of a range of commercial transactions, including financing, real asset and development deals and subsidiary businesses. The role will evolve into leading a variety of transactions identified by the Business Development team with the key deliverables ensuring high-quality execution, effective stakeholder engagement, and the development of a robust transaction process framework.
Key responsibilities include:
• Leading complex commercial contracts, debt & equity transactions, coordinating workstreams across internal & external teams
• Leading a team to manage & execute commercial negotiations & investment opportunities
• Developing & implementing a transaction process framework
• Maintaining a transaction prospects pipeline & resourcing plan
• Providing senior leadership to due diligence processes, assessing financial, legal, operational & strategic aspects of business development opportunities
The successful candidate will have 8+ years of experience and:
• Tertiary qualifications in finance, law, accounting, economics or strategy with postgraduate qualifications such as a CFA, CA/CPA, MBA
• Demonstrated experience across leadership of strategy, people & influencing change
• An accomplished communicator, you can explain complex concepts to both partners and stakeholders
• Advanced corporate finance knowledge, a commercial mindset, deal management & extensive transaction execution experience
• A successful track record in leading large M&A origination transactions through to financial close & transition arrangements
• Advanced stakeholder management, commercial acumen & financial analysis capabilities
The successful candidate will have significant end to end transaction experience gained within corporate advisory, M&A, project finance and/or in the real asset and development field.
