Our client is a leading, ASX-listed industrials and environmental services firm that has had immense success growing its platform through an active acquisition mandate and strategic investments into high profile and emerging sustainability initiatives. The firm’s investment team has a very active and varied mandate that covers strategy, M&A and sustainability-focused investments and initiatives and they are looking to hire an Senior Analyst/Associate into their team based in Sydney.  

As the successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to work alongside and be mentored by a well-credentialled & experienced team that is currently executing the most active investment mandate in the sector. You can expect your key responsibilities to include:

• Identification and screening of potential acquisition opportunities aligned with the firm’s strategy

• Detailed financial and commercial review of potential targets & opportunities

• Preparation of detailed business plans and valuation models

• Coordinating the due diligence process

• Preparation and presentation of investment cases and approval papers

• Provide direct support for transaction execution and integration activities

• Assisting in negotiations of commercial terms and transaction documentation

• Providing assistance with major strategic projects for the company

• Helping drive and create a strategy around sustainability, innovation and the circular economy

Suitable candidates will have gained ~2-5 years’ experience in corporate advisory from either an investment bank or leading independent advisory firm, or potentially Lead M&A Advisory from a quality CA firm. Candidates who have worked in an in-house M&A/corporate development role will also be strongly considered. You will need to display the requisite technical and financial modelling skills expected for this type of role and be able to apply a deep commercial acumen to your work. The ability to partner and communicate with stakeholders at all levels is considered to be imperative to your success in this role.
