Looking for a new adventure in the Alternatives Market?  We represent a well credentialed alternative investment manager with a proven track record investing in the private debt space.

The firm is managed by high calibre, experienced investment professionals with extensive experience in the Australian and Global financial markets and has invested over $1 billion of capital since inception. To facilitate continued growth, they have a newly created Investment Associate role to join their Melbourne real estate team.

Reporting to the Director, Investments and working collaboratively with other members of the investment team, your role will be responsible for assessing and executing on private credit opportunities, whilst managing existing client relationships within the portfolio.

You will be required to conduct independent fundamental credit analysis, due diligence, research and financial modelling to support the assessment of new and existing investment opportunities across a broad spectrum of direct lending and funding solutions for the fund.  Other duties include but are not limited to: preparation of investment papers on prospective new investments for consideration by the Portfolio Manager and Investment Committee; negotiation and review of transaction legal documentation and the ongoing monitoring of the portfolio investments and fund valuation process.

Ideally, successful candidates will possess:

• Relevant experience in corporate finance and/or fundamental credit analysis roles

• Well-developed financial modelling & legal documentation skills

• Motivated team player & flexible in approach with ability to work independently

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills

• A strong understanding of various metrics in assessing risk & return

• A keen attention to detail

Candidates will have appropriate tertiary qualifications and a strong passion and interest in the private debt sector. You will have gained at least 3 years’ experience within banking, corporate finance, leveraged finance or private credit within a corporate & institutional banking, investment management, chartered accounting or investment banking environment and are now seeking to further develop your career in this specialist asset class.
