About the Opportunity
Manager – Asset Governance (Infrastructure & Property)

The Client

A leading investment platform whose investment team is made up of more than 100 specialists who oversee externally managed investments and manage several direct assets and investment portfolios in-house. This collaborative and purpose-driven investment team are looking to add an Asset Governance Manager to support the Senior Asset Governance Manager.  This role will ensure good asset governance across the infrastructure, property and private equity portfolio businesses.

Some of your key responsibilities as Asset Governance Manager will be:

• Board/director skills assessment, board member recruitment & onboarding

• Support Board & Management in governance policy formulation, particularly delegation of authority, distribution & remuneration

• Maintain the register of the firm’s appointed company directors, alternate directors, observers & committee appointments

• Assist Senior Manager in developing the NED ecosystem

• Develop asset governance good practices & support AssetCo management with implementation

• Support board with skills assessment & capability development, director & investment team training & coaching

• Develop & deliver governance review framework

• Preparation of reports for DAOE & Investment Team including period reporting to various Committees

• Manage supplier panel including contract & timely payment of NED & supplier invoices

The successful candidate will possess 10 – 15 years of experience in the following:

• Strong & relevant academic qualifications specific to governance of assets in an investment context

• Relevant industry experience in board governance practices, potentially as a company secretary, assistant company secretary, or a lawyer working in private practice or in-house

• Experience working with infrastructure, property & private equity assets

• Experience in managing a wide range of stakeholders both internally & externally

• Excellent organisation skills, with a calm & reasoned approach to complexity & ambiguity

• Strong written & verbal communication/presentation skills, able to be tailored for different audiences

• High level Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word & PowerPoint

• Appreciation of the regulatory & legislative context in which the financial services sector & superannuation funds operate would be advantageous
