About the Opportunity
Senior Investment Associate – Private Equity

Our client is a well-established Private Equity firm that focuses on investing in businesses requiring transformation or a turnaround focus. Their investment mandate covers middle-market businesses across Australia, New Zealand, and selectively in South-East Asia, who are not operating at their full potential. They seek active partnerships with management teams via control investments where they can apply their unique combination of capital, operational expertise and change disciplines across a broad spectrum of sectors, and have a proven track record of significantly improving the financial performance and business quality through their operational focus and support. As an established Fund with capital to deploy, they continue to focus on new investment opportunities and are looking to hire two senior associates to assist them in their next phase of growth.

As a Senior Associate you will play a key role across investment analysis, recommendations and execution as well as working closely with management teams across the portfolio to implement transformation strategies and change disciplines. You will work closely with the senior team to build out your investing experience and will gain exposure to the full end to end lifecycle of investing.

Successful applicants will have ideally spent 4-6 years in a transactional M&A role in an investment bank or leading corporate advisory firm and will have proven M&A execution experience. Alternatively, you could have spent time post your foundation years in M&A working in an in-house corporate development role but be looking to make a switch to an investing role with an operational focus. Complementing your technical experience will also be an ability to build rapport and meaningful working relationships with portfolio companies and management teams. You will be confident and assertive in your communication style but will display humility and empathy in your interactions.

This represents a first-class opportunity for either a first move into Private Equity from corporate advisory, or the opportunity to move from another investing environment to a Fund that will provide you with operating experience and the ability to work hand in hand with businesses to ensure they can operate at their full potential.

Applicants must have full working rights in place for Australia to be considered for this opportunity.
