About the Opportunity
Investment Associate - Infrastructure Private Equity

The Firm

A leading international Infrastructure Private Equity fund investing across core plus infrastructure and energy sectors. They have a strong track record in midstream energy, telecom infrastructure, transportation, and social/healthcare infrastructure. Having recently closed another multi-billion dollar fund, they are looking to grow the team further.

The Role

The Investment Associate’s  focus will be on analysis of the valuation and returns of assets across three operating regions. The role will work closely with the Group Investment Manager, performing financial modelling and analysis. The role will also work with the Group CFO and other senior stakeholders to support critical decisions relating to transactions, financing, development and group strategy.

An ability to understand complex issues and effectively perform high value adding analysis will be critical to succeeding in this role. The candidate will need to have a strong grasp of financial concepts such as discounted cash flow valuation, internal rate of return analysis and project finance. The role will require effective communication of findings to a range of stakeholders.

The Candidate

As an Investment Associate your responsibilities will include:

• Prepare models & analysis to calculate impact on value, cash flow & returns

• Work with the development team to prepare financial models, perform analysis & support project management in relation to new projects, expansions & major refurbishments

• Assist in preparation of materials for investors, the board & the executive committee relating to valuations, cash flows & asset performance

• Being the secondary point of contact in certain projects & deals

• Interaction & building relationships with management teams, investment banks & other external advisors

To be considered for this opportunity you must fit the following criteria:

• At least five years of experience in financial modelling, business valuation, transactions, restructuring or corporate development roles

• Ability to efficiently build, maintain & enhance high quality financial models incorporating cash waterfalls, DCF calculations & returns analysis

• Articulate, persuasive & able to communicate financial outcomes to a broad range of stakeholder groups

• Strategic thinker, able to digest complex matters & provide timely, relevant & succinct analysis

• Advanced user of Microsoft Excel – ability to use VBA preferred but not essential

• Familiarity with the core concepts of valuation, financial accounting, project finance & tax

• Strong project management & organisational skills
