The Strategic Investor plays a critical role in leading and executing this global mandate and will join the team in Sydney to invest in unique, high-potential and high-performing retail-tech and climate-tech businesses.
The Strategic Investor plays a critical role in the success of the strategy and is responsible for identifying and exploring sustainability/clean-tech investment thematics, evaluating potential investments in this space and leading deals through the entire investment process, including: conducting due diligence, developing the investment case and subsequently leading the execution of the investment.
This is a key appointment for the team and we are looking for someone who brings ~8+ years’ experience working in some combination of direct investment, corporate strategy/corporate development and strategy consulting or similar. We will also consider profiles outside of these areas if they bring appropriate experience. The successful candidate will have a passion for sustainability investing, a desire to understand new industries and businesses and display a genuine curiosity in how they approach investing. This candidate will be joining a data-driven, collaborative team with a flat structure and “no ego” culture where a desire to be in the detail and to be hands on is considered an imperative.
Finally, we need someone who is commercially minded in their critical assessment of investment opportunities whilst remaining open-minded and inquisitive, as befits a genuinely broad and unique investment mandate.
