JMES is delighted to be supporting a growth equity investment firm with the hire of two key investment professionals in Melbourne as they launch a new, dedicated investment structure.
With a high-quality existing investment portfolio of strategic, platform positions, the firm is well placed to continue to build on its investment strategies, leveraging the team’s extensive track record and access to patient, flexible capital, including committed pools of capital. The firm’s mandate is centred on partnering with entrepreneurial management teams to incubate and grow businesses within a select industry, with the ability to invest throughout the capital stack. The team will focus on long-term investment fundamentals, with a selective, high-conviction model and an active ownership approach to investments.
To support the firm with its mandate, there is a current need for two investment professionals to join the team at the Associate Director, Senior Associate or Associate level. These team members will work closely with the head of the firm to drive value in the current investment portfolio as well as cultivating and executing new investment opportunities.
Ideal candidates will likely have experience in private capital investing, investment banking and/or similar roles. At the Associate Director level, you’ll have likely gained 6-8 years’ experience, while at the Senior Associate / Associate level you’ll have likely gained 3-6 years’ experience. Key to your success will be an entrepreneurial mindset, with a deep curiosity and passion for investing and comfort in operating in a small team environment. This represents a fantastic opportunity to join a growth equity firm as part of an exciting new initiative, helping drive the growth and success of not only the team and firm, but also the growth and success of a range of businesses that you’ll invest in.

The roles will be based in Melbourne and candidates must have full working rights for Australia to be considered.
