The Client
My client is a global renewable energy transition platform that develops, owns, operates and invests into an extensive portfolio of clean energy assets around the world. The firm now boasts operations across Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America with well over 200 employees globally. In Australia, the platform is a high-growth investor and developer of renewable energy projects that enjoys the backing of significant institutional capital partners and has ambitious plans to move into disruptive areas of green technology. With this in mind, they are now looking to hire an Investment Manager into their investment team based in Sydney.
This role offers the opportunity to be mentored by a highly experienced leadership team and will have direct exposure to all aspects of the investment process. As Investment Manager, you will work directly the Head of Investments, Australia.
The Role
The role’s key responsibilities will include:
1. Project manage & coordinate buy&sell-side M&A & project finance transactions – including:
o Manage due diligence workstreams & advisors
o Assist with the preparation of Investment Committee papers & supporting financial analysis documents
o Support the negotiation of financing/transaction documentation
o Prepare external presentations for investors & lenders, including information memorandum
2. Lead the firm’s continued investment & expertise in new, disruptive areas of energy transition including development of business cases, financial structuring & financial modelling as required
3. Contribute to the leadership, management & mentoring of the investments team including managing daily workflow, reviewing financial modelling & mentoring team members in areas including project finance modelling & energy markets
The successful candidate will bring the following:
• ~6-8 years’ total experience, including mandatory track record in a renewables investing capacity. Candidates with broader renewables/infrastructure-focused corporate finance, transaction advisory, project finance, investment banking or experience in PPP transactions may also be considered
• The ability to interrogate & amend complex financial models
• Entrepreneurial flair & excellent communication ability & negotiation skills
• Ability to develop respect internally & work collaboratively with colleagues in a small but highly active environment
