This newly created Head of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) role reports directly into the Head of Australia and plays a key role in the Australian-launch of a top-tier US-headquartered, mid-market private equity fund. The fund has an exceptional track record of returns and success in many different geographies and has a unique investment strategy anchored around an extraordinarily active M&A mandate in underappreciated sectors.
The Head of M&A will be tasked with growing the fund’s platform investments via acquisition and ensuring that fund’s investments grow continually throughout what is potentially an extensive investment horizon. Specifically, this role will look to:
• Refine and embed a robust and efficient acquisition process
• Develop recommendations in respect of prospective acquisitions
• Lead, coordinate and undertake all transaction processes including oversight of financial due diligence and coordination of relevant workstreams and advisors
• Liaise and lead interactions with Vendors
• Support post acquisition integration projects with the operations team
For this role, we seek an energetic and entrepreneurial individual who will likely have ~8 – 12 years of experience gained in blue chip private equity, corporate development or a combination of these disciplines. Through your career to date, you will have developed an exceptional ability and track record in assessing and executing high quality investments and a keen understanding of what it takes to grow a business successfully.
