JMES is working in close partnership with a leading, Australian mid-market Private Equity Fund as they look to hire an Investment Director. A highly experienced investment team with a proven track record of investing across the Australian market over an extensive period of time, this Fund has a focus on investing in businesses where they can address operational improvement initiatives and seek to drive improved financial and business quality as a result of their hands on approach.
As an Investment Director you’ll work closely with the Partner group and the broader investment team to ensure the origination and execution of new investment opportunities and will spend significant time focused on driving operational improvement across the portfolio, deploying your commercial experience and strategic capabilities to drive value creation efforts. You will lead and execute investment processes, supporting less experienced team members through this work and will play an active role in the fostering of key adviser and industry relationships.
Successful candidates will likely have ~9-12 years’ experience gained from some combination of Private Equity, Strategy Consulting, Investment Banking, Corporate Development or time spent in an Investor backed businesses. Key attributes will include ability to network and originate investment opportunities, high level of commercial acumen and strategic and operational capability, a passion for being an investor and assessing businesses and will be someone who displays leadership qualities and ambitions.
